Betula pendula 'Youngii' (Young's Weeping Birch) - 175/250cm
Young's Weeping Birch. A distinctive, dome-shaped tree with pendulous branches and peeling white bark. Dark green leaves turn yellow in autumn and yellow-brown catkins are produced in spring. Average height is just 20-25ft. Birch trees are best known for their striking ornamental bark, and are ideal for small or medium sized gardens. Birches look effective planted on their own, but are often planted in small groups in front of dark foliage, which contrasts with the bark. Grows best in moist, fertile soil which is well drained.
