Sweet Chestnuts (Castanea sativa) are valued for their unique foliage. Leaves are often oblong to oval in shape and have distinctive toothed margins This vigorous tree often develops small heavily scented cream flowers in the summer followed by catkins in late summer early autumn as well as edible nuts. They make excellent specimen trees or can be planted in woodland areas. Grows best in deep, well drained, slightly acidic soil. Average eventual height 65ft.

We have an excellent range of the smaller sizes of ornamental trees in stock throughout the winter. However for larger sizes (or in busy periods) we may have to order your tree in. Please allow a couple of weeks for this.

 

 

 

Delivery

These trees are available for collection from the nursery or local delivery (within 40 miles of OX5 3BA). Due to their large size, unfortunately we can't offer nationwide delivery further afield unless we are already planning a journey your area.
