Lime (Tilia)

tilia-cordata-banner.jpg

Lime trees are known for their clusters of fragrant, pale yellow flowers produced in July - they have a sweet scent, and are attractive to insects. Lime is a tall tree that makes a good windbreak or avenue tree. It will grow in most soils as long as they are not too dry, but prefers neither strongly acid or strongly alkaline conditions. The average height is approx 45ft, spread 20ft.

The catalogue below is our full range available during the bareroot season from November - March, either in stock in the nursery or, in the case of the larger sizes, available to order. Over the summer we stock a smaller range of potted trees. If travelling from afar, please call or email ahead to ensure what you are after is available currently.
