Our Holiday Apartment
The perfect romantic getaway, Banksiae is positioned within a wing of this beautifully elegant 1930s country house nestled in a botanical paradise. It is the perfect retreat for a cosy break in the Oxfordshire countryside, designer shopping at Bicester Village or exploring the dreaming spires of Oxford. Conveniently situated close to Woodstock and Blenheim Palace on the edge of the Cotswolds.
This luxurious two bedroom apartment is a real treat as you will be in a unique setting within the grounds of our traditional plant nursery. The interior of this spacious first-floor apartment is simply charming with original features, such as the cast iron radiators, fireplaces, picture rails, doors and Georgian-style windows. These are thoughtfully blended with modern luxuries of under-floor heating, a drench shower wetroom and a bespoke kitchen.
Banksiae is adorned with a lovely mixture of vintage and contemporary furniture including a sumptuous bespoke 8ft long master bed for the ultimate night's sleep. The cosy and inviting atmosphere is further enhanced by the simple but stylish decoration and furnishings throughout. A leisurely breakfast can be enjoyed in the bay window whilst admiring the rural panoramic views across the Cherwell Valley.
Banksiae (pronounced bangk-see-uh) is inspired by the climbing rose "Banksiae Lutea", whose sprays of pale lemon blooms amidst soft green foliage can be seen arching from the walls of the nursery house each spring. Discovered by the famous botanist Sir Joseph Banks, whose intrepid voyages in search of new plant species for Kew gardens followed his early studies in Oxford.
After your own day's exploration of Oxfordshire's delightful countryside and attractions you can return to the leafy surroundings of the nursery Tea Garden. There you can relax and enjoy a delicious slice of handmade cake and a cup or two of English tea whilst planning your next day's adventure.
