Phormiums, Cordylines & Yuccas

Phormiums and Cordylines are bold, architectural plants that can be planted in pots or beds and make striking, exotic-looking focal points. Phormiums form a large clump with the leaves branching right from the base of the plant, whereas Corydlines gradually form a tall trunk, eventually reaching a tall 'palm tree' shape. They both like sunny spots and dislike being wet and soggy. In winter you can tie up the leaves of Cordylines to prevent the rain gathering in the centre of the plant.

Yuccas are similar in form to Phormiums, and are extremely tough and drought tolerant. In summer, mature plants produce stunning panicles of creamy white flowers that can reach up to 2m tall.
