These pleached trees are perfect for creating an instant screen. They can be planted to form a hedge above a wall or fence, or used as a divider between two parts of the garden. Trim yearly in late summer.

 

Girth (circumference of trunk): 12/14cm.

Clear stem: 1.8-2m

Size of head: 1.2(h) x 1.8m(w).

 

Hornbeam make an excellent hedge as they are easily clipped into a neat shape. The green serrated leaves form a dense screen over spring and summer. The brown leaves from the previous season are retained on the tree throughout winter, creating a year-round screen.

    I’d compared loads of sites and these appeared the best by far in terms of size, trunk girth and span , and they didn’t disappoint. Excellent quality trees, beautifully maintained and tethered. Also received excellent advise on planting, staking and maintenance . These are expensive items and you don’t want to get it wrong when you buy - We can heartily recommend this nursery, they clearly really care about their product quality and customer service.
