Prunus (Flowering Cherry)

Ornamental cherries are best known for their stunning blossom which ranges from white through to red depending on variety, and clothe the tree in spring time. The leaves often emerge a deep red and then develop a fantastic autumn colour later in the year.  There are a multitude of flowering cherries to choose from - they all make excellent specimen trees suitable for small gardens and grow best in moderately fertile soil.
