BEHIND THE NAME...

Banksiae (pronounced bangk-see-uh) is inspired by the climbing rose "Banksiae Lutea", whose sprays of pale lemon blooms amidst soft green foliage can be seen arching from the walls of the nursery house each spring. Discovered by the famous botanist Sir Joseph Banks, whose intrepid voyages in search of new plant species for Kew gardens followed his early studies in Oxford.

After your own day's exploration of Oxfordshire's delightful countryside and attractions, you can return to the leafy surroundings of the nursery Tea Garden. There you can relax and enjoy a delicious slice of handmade cake and a cup or two of English tea whilst planning your next day's adventure.
