Lucy’s news from the nursery:
October has come to an end & we welcome November, when plants & trees become dormant. During this time you can plant roses, bareroot or rootball hedging, fruit trees, fruit bushes & ornamental trees.
Our Pumpkin Hunt has been a great success this year & we would like to thank everyone who took part in helping raise money for Mind & Restore whilst having a spooktacular time! We will announce the total raised in next week’s newsletter. The winner for Guess the weight of Big Bertha & Tiny Tim was Poppy who guessed her exact weight of 42.85kg with Tiny Tim adding just 5g.
Flash Offer for this weekend! Bunkers Bulb Sale is on - all packs now HALF PRICE…just £2 ??? We have kept some tulips to plant for our Tulip Festival next year which will hopefully be as impressive as this spring!
This week our soft fruit has arrived. It is now available in the nursery, you’ll find it at the top of the main path. Early Bird Offer - buy any 3 fruit bushes or raspberries& save £1. Our strawberries & rhubarb are a little bit late but will be with us next week. If you have pre-ordered these will be ready for collection or be sent out to you on Monday.
This week’s highlights… Cyclamen, heathers, cotinus, euonymus, nandina, skimmias, pansies, hebes & more!
Some jobs for the garden:
* Plant your tulip bulbs and any last minute bulb purchases for a spring display
* Remove soggy leaves & put a gravel mulch around alpines to prevent rotting over winter
* Plant onion sets
