News from the nursery:

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has visited us this season to buy their Christmas tree from us. For many families, coming to the nursery to choose their Christmas tree, have a hot chocolate & do the Reindeer Challenge is part of their annual tradition. We love welcoming those familiar faces, seeing how much bigger the children get each year & catching up on the past year’s activities. We have also welcomed lots of new people this year who we hope will continue to visit us throughout the year as well as many Christmases to come.

There are a couple more days to pop along to the nursery for those last minute gifts (or a Christmas tree if you have left it a bit late…). We offer our own gift vouchers which are perfect if you know they love gardening but don’t know what they’d like. If you are looking for a plant as a gift we have some tempting varieties of camellias or a lovely bareroot roses with names like ‘Absolutely Fabulous’, ‘Champagne Cocktail’& ‘Gardener’s Glory’ you’ll find a suitable one for a gift. Andrew & Lucy have also been busy creating some flowering gift pots with plants such as hellebores, hyacinths, tete-a-tete & primroses.

This week we had our Secret Santa with all of our hardworking team. The theme for this year’s event was ‘handmade or homemade’ starting with the letter of the person they had drawn. Everyone was very creative…we had Lucy’s Lebkuchen, Matt’s millionaire shortbread, Liz’s luxury hamper, Pandora’s box, Simon’s socks & Judy’s juniper gin glass to name a few. We couldn’t make Christmas at Bunkers spectacular without the help of each & every one of our fabulous members of the team. We are sure you’ll agree there aren’t many places where you are welcomed by such cheerful people, so a huge THANK YOU to them all.

We will be closed for our Annual Winter Break from the afternoon of Christmas Eve (around 2pm) and we will re-open on the 8th January. You may wish to pop into the nursery to stock up on logs to keep you cozy during the festive period, bird seed to keep those hungry birds happy or maybe just a new plant for the garden.

Roll up, roll up…last chance to buy tickets for our Grand Charity Raffle for a chance to win some fantastic prizes… plus support two wonderful mental health charities Mind & Restore.
