Lucy’s news from the nursery:
The nursery has undergone a transformation this week…the perennial area now has all of our bareroot hedging instead. We sell our hedging as single whips or in bundles. We have our Early Bird Hedging Offer on bareroot hedging bundles with 20% OFF. Hedgerows are an important habitat for our British wildlife, especially for birds, so why not plant your own little stretch in your garden & watch the birds hop in & out.
If you are looking for evergreen screening rather than a native hedgerow, then we have our rootball hedging including yew, Portuguese laurel & cherry laurel. These are available in various heights so you can choose the perfect ones for creating a hedge in your garden. Our Early Bird Hedging 20% OFF Offer applies to all rootballs!
Opposite the bareroot hedging you will find our selection of over 200 varieties of roses. We have floribundas, hybrid teas, patio roses, climbing & ramblers, old English shrub roses & groundcover roses so you’ll easily find the perfect rose for any position in your garden or as a gift this Christmas. We have some new varieties in our collection this year, such as ‘Peach Melba’, ‘Bush baby’ & ‘You’re My Everything’ (rose of the year 2025).
It’s now time to transform the meadow into our magical Christmas Tree Forest, bring the sleigh out of its home & wake up those reindeer for the Reindeer Challenge (details & dates coming soon!). ???
This week’s highlights… Skimmias, hedging, roses, fruit bushes, viburnums, sarcococca & more!
Some jobs for the garden:
* Plant your bareroot roses, fruit bushes or hedges whilst the ground is nice & soft
* Wash out bird feeders regularly during the autumn & winter to prevent the damp causing any leftover food to go mouldy.
Wishing you all the best

P.S. Fruit trees are on their way…we are just waiting for them to be dug up so Simon can collect them. They’ll be here in the next week or so ?
