Salix Chermesina (Scarlet Willow). A striking, fast-growing, male plant with carmine-red young winter shoots. It produces yellow catkins from March to May, with the leaves. Average height 15ft+ as a tree. Can be pruned to desired height and is often coppiced or pollarded to encourage the growth of young scarlet stems. Excellent for moist, damp areas.
