Amelanchier, also known as Snowy Mespilus, is known for its distinctive star shaped flowers which are produced in abundance from late spring to early summer. In Late summer they develop maroon coloured fruits which provides valuable food for garden birds. Grows best in moist, well drained soil, acid or neutral.
