Product Description
10 bare root 3yr old plants approx 30-50cm tall
Douglas fir is a tall conifer with soft dark green needles and distinctive pointed brown cones that hang pendant-like from the branches. The bark is smooth and grey when young, turning a dark, fissured brown with age. Douglas fir has a columnar shape, but with elegant spreading branches. It is suitable for planting as a screening tree. It grows best in acid to neutral soil, and prefers a sunny position. Average eventual height 50ft+

Bare root plants: These plants can be planted anytime between November and March. We keep our bare root hedging in tubs of damp compost at the nursery. If you are not planting your plants immediately then keep the roots damp (preferably in compost) and out the sun until you are ready to plant.
