Product Description
1 x bare root 1yr old plant approx 40-60cm tall
Blackthorn is a bushy, spiny plant with deep green leaves that turn attractive shades of burnt orange in autumn. Masses of white blossom is produced in late winter, followed by blue-black fruits which can be made into 'sloe gin'. Forms a thick, thorny, medium to tall hedge. Average height 6-15ft (prune to desired height). Blackthorn grows well on most soils - ideal for chalk or clay

Suitable for: Mixed native hedge, single species hedge

Bare root plants: These plants can be planted anytime between November and March. We keep our bare root hedging in tubs of damp compost at the nursery. If you are not planting your plants immediately then keep the roots damp (preferably in compost) and out the sun until you are ready to plant.
