Common name: Grey Alder
A conical tree with mid-green leaves, grey-white beneath.
Pendent yellow-brown male catkins open before the leaves from January to March.
Ideal as windbreaks. Ideal for damp conditions but will tolerate dry sites.
Average height 45ft+.
