Alliums

These bulbs are real showstoppers amongst your perennial borders, especially the very tall ones.

There are small varieties like 'Moly' or 'Roseum' that work well in rockeries, pots or amongst a wildflower area.

For more of a statement choose the large flowering types that are sold in 3s, 6s or bulk as their large globe flowerheads will add a bold pop of colour. 

Alliums are loved by pollinators and can also be cut as flowers so you can enjoy them inside too. You can leave their flowerhead when they have finished flowering as they dry - birds love the seeds and they add a nice texture to a border.
