Architectural perennial with spiny, mid-green leaves.
Branched stems bearing clusters of lavender-blue flowers surrounded by spiny bracts, are produced from June to August.
Self seeds and makes an excellent cut flower.
Average height 2ft, spread 2.5ft
Full sun. Hardy.
