Foxgloves (Digitalis)

Foxgloves (Digitalis)

Foxgloves (Digitalis) are native plants with tall spikes of flowers, usually in shades of pink, purple and white in early summer. The flowers are often speckled inside with a contrasting colour, and attract many butterflies and insects. They are perennial if the flower spikes are cut down before they seed, otherwise if left, they will seed freely, creating natural drifts of plants. They are ideal for dappled shade, and create a beautiful, natural feel in a garden.
