Product Description

1 bare root plant approx 60-100cm tall

A dense, thicket-forming, spiny plant with dark green leaves which turn yellow in autumn. Spherical black fruit are produced in autumn. Forms thick, thorny hedges with an average height of 7ft or a small specimen tree 15ft. Good for chalky soils.

 

Recommended planting distance: 5 per metre

Hardiness: Fully Hardy

Suitable for: Mixed native hedge, single species hedge

Features: Berries, good for chalky soils, wildlife friendly

 

Bare root plants: These plants can be planted anytime between November and March. We keep our bare root hedging in tubs of damp compost at the nursery. If you are not planting your plants immediately then keep the roots damp (preferably in compost) and out the sun until you are ready to plant.
