Product Description
Common name: Common Alder
A conical, deciduous tree with long-lasting, glossy dark green leaves.
Pendent yellow-brown male catkins open from January to March, before the leaves.
Average eventual height 50ft+.
Full sun/Partial shade.
"Provides nectar for pollinators and food for many moth species and the seeds are enjoyed by birds including siskins and goldfinches. Ideal as windbreaks. Good for damp conditions but will tolerate dry sites and poor soils."
