Common name: Chinese Red Birch
A conical tree with unusual, peeling orange-brown bark.
The glossy leaves are deep green above and paler beneath and turn yellow in autumn.
Yellow-brown catkins open with the leaves.
Average height 35ft.
Full sun/partial shade.
Hardy.
