It produces single, velvety red flowers from May - September

"Prune these clematis regularly to encourage strong growth & flowering. If left unpruned, it can become a tangled mass with bare stems. Clematis in pruning group 3 should be pruned in late winter or early spring as they flower in late summer on growth made in that season."
