Common name: Louisiana Iris
A cultivated variety of the Louisiana iris which are native to the coastal swamps of the US state of Louisiana which makes them ideal for boggy conditions or pond margins. 'Black Gamecock' has large velvety, deep purple, almost black blooms from June to July.
