 Iris

Iris germanica, also known as Bearded or Flag Iris, are beautiful, rhizomous perennials that produce eye-catching flowers that often have unusual petal colours and markings. The tall flowers on strong stems are borne in May and June, and the upright sword-like leaves are often tinted a dusky blue. They like well-drained soil, and are ideal for sunny borders or containers. Iris sibirica, the Siberian Iris, which have smaller, but more delicate flowers, and like moist soil, so are ideal for planting near a pond or bog garden.
