Common name: Elder

An upright bushy deciduous shrub with very finely cut, almost black foliage, which is the perfect foil to the pink-flushed blooms from May to June.

In Autumn, leaves turn rich red.

RHS Award of Garden Merit. 

Average height 6-8ft.

Full sun/partial shade.

Hardy.
