Betula - Birch

Betula (Birch)

Birch trees are best known for their striking ornamental bark, and are ideal for small gardens. Birches look effective planted on their own, but are often planted in small groups in front of dark foliage, which contrasts with the bright white bark. In autumn the green leaves turn to warm yellow colours and pendant catkins are produced. Grows best in moist fertile soil which is well drained.
