Oak

quercus-robur-banner.jpg

Oak is well-known as a majestic, native,  long lived tree, often called 'King of the Forest'. In late spring the tree develops small flowers and catkins, that are later followed by acorns. The leaves are distinctive, with wavy margins, and the bark is fissured . Oaks are suited to large gardens, forests or parkland.  Best grown in deep, fertile well drained soil.
