Product Description
1 x bare root 2yr old plant approx 60-90cm tall
'Italian Alder. A fast-growing species with glossy dark green leaves. Pendant yellow-brown male catkins are borne January to March, before the leaves. Good for damp and chalky soils. Space plants approx 2ft for planting as hedge, trim in late summer. Average eventual height 70ft, spread 18ft. Full sun. Hardy.'

Bare root plants: These plants can be planted anytime between November and March. We keep our bare root hedging in tubs of damp compost at the nursery. If you are not planting your plants immediately then keep the roots damp (preferably in compost) and out the sun until you are ready to plant.
We may prune 20% off the tops of your plants before sending. This will encourage strong bushy growth
