Product Description
1 x bare root 2yr old plant approx 40-60cm tall
Betula pendula (Silver Birch) is a beautiful, conical tree with characteristic peeling white bark, which over time becomes marked with contrasting dark fissures at the base. Its dark green leaves turn yellow in autumn and yellow-brown catkins are produced in spring. Silver birch makes an excellent screening tree, and will reach an eventual height of 40ft+ (can be kept smaller with pruning). They are fast growing trees, tolerant of very exposed conditions
Hardiness: Fully Hardy
Suitable for: Specimen tree, screen, avenue
Features: Beautiful white bark, airy screen, fast growing
Bare root plants: These plants can be planted anytime between November and March. We keep our bare root hedging in tubs of damp compost at the nursery. If you are not planting your plants immediately then keep the roots damp (preferably in compost) and out the sun until you are ready to plant.
