Anemones

Anemones are a versatile group of bulbs which create beautiful carpets of flowers in early spring, ideal for creating colour in the garden before the showy tulips steal the show.

Many varieties spread and naturalise and can be planted in dappled shade under trees. The foliage dies down quickly after flowering - leaving no messy leaves.

Try soaking the knobbly tubers in water overnight before planting to give them a head start.
