Malus (Crab Apple)

Crabapples produce fantastic blossom which ranges from pinks to whites depending on variety. They are valued most of all, however, for the fruits that are produced in the autumn. These are not only highly decorative but are an important food source for a multitude of birds and animals. Many varieties can also be made into delicious jelly. Crabapples make perfect specimen trees and  are suitable for the smaller garden. They prefer moderately fertile, well drained soil. Average eventual height 20-30ft
