A succulent herb producing basal rosettes of lance-shaped, grey-green leaves, with toothed pink margins.
Bears racemes of tubular yellow flowers from May to July.
The gel inside the leaves is is believed to have been used by Cleopatra and is widely used today as an ingredient in herbal remedies and beauty products.
Average height 1-2ft.
